Testing Lamb-shift polarimeter with unpolarized pulsed proton beam. - Finalized early career proposal - to be submitted today. - Conversion of linac lattice from TRACK to PyORBIT. Added solenoid element in PyORBIT linac tools (solenoid previously only existed in ring lattice tools). - Discussion on data from December 2018 IMP bunched beam cooling experiment. Next two weeks (Apr 29 - May 10) - Longitudinal Schottky signal analysis of remaining data from December 2018 IMP bunched beam cooling experiment. - Continued work on conversion of light ion linac lattice from TRACK to PyORBIT.

CEBAF - Ran BTEAM, prepare for the summer run. Initial algorithm development for speeding up CED update in order to adapt optics to the gradient profile of the linac prior to starting ORFP. JLEIC: - Wrote and send report to DOE for the 2nd quarter of the FY18 FOA. - Writing tech note on the implementation of IR multipole kicks in BB3D. - Gave a presentation on the status of the beam-beam for the new pCDR100 optics OTHER - Attended the ML seminar - Starting to work on the use of deep learning networks for CEBAF (matching with sync light ) Next two weeks (Apr 29 - May 10) - Fiish tech note on the IR multipole kicks implementation - Start comparing elegant+bbeam (River's code) with bb3d an IR kicks - Work on a model for a landau cavity (its 3rd quarter of FOA) - Work on optics for the summer run (CEBAF)

Previous two weeks (Apr 15 - Apr 26) - “CASA Beam-Beam” Updated the calculation code based on the optimized formula of the spin response function. - Studying of the zero-integer spin resonance strength. From 23.0GeV, 23.1GeV, 23,2GeV, …, till to 320GeV, the performance of the zero-integer spin resonance strength has been implemented by the updated CASA Beam-Beam code. The numerical result was analyzed in our team will be demonstrated on IPAC19 pear review paper. - Crab kicking combined with Elegant - We are still simulating and studying the Crab Kicking and Beam-Beam via CASA beam-Beam, BeamBeam3D and Elegant. The benchmark will be demonstrated in IPAC19 poster and the paper. Next two weeks (Apr 29 - May 10) - Prepare the poster for IPAC19. - Spin tracking.
Diagnostic Development - Kevin Jordan
Previous two weeks (Apr 15 - Apr 26) - Had power installed for high efficiency magnetron project; the first of two will arrive in a couple weeks. The 480 VAC was tied in to where the Dark light solenoid PS was located. The work will be done in the LERF lab 1. - Prepared & installed BNNT flag at 7A08, also had discussions on nomenclature & CED - the name of a viewer is based on flag material; OTR/YAG or ’normal’ (Chromox) - Worked with Joe on Isotope shielding - Finished CRADA for Halo monitor SBIR - Preparing for LCLS-II cryomodule swap Next two weeks (Apr 29 - May 10) - Attend the Canadian Light Source MAC meeting - Continue with the prep for the magnetron transmitter - Mount the Tungsten radiator on water cooled copper for Isotope project

Previous two weeks (Apr 15 - Apr 26) - ARC 7 SLM installation and alignment. The install went extremely well and S&A in nearly done with aligning. - Finished the design of the Isotope shielding – a much simpler and cheaper design See picture below. - Have a tentative plan to wire up the HPWS Next two weeks (Apr 29 - May 10) - Finish the Isotope Shielding presentation - Help with the wiring, testing and reconfiguration (changing of input direction) of the HPWS - Prepare LDRDS for FAST if we get installation approval

Previous two weeks (Apr 15 - Apr 26) - Completed and submitted the quarterly report for the FOA Cooling project. - Complete the budget for the Isotope project quarterly. - Reviewed the Conduct of Operations procedures for the UITF. - Hosted and wrote up minutes for Status meeting for the FOA cooling project. - Set up Bruno Muratori seminar. - Derived specifications for a Coherent Electron Cooling ERL and discussed with C. Tennant. - Discussed possible Virginia Commonwealth funded JLEIC technology development plan with ODU and Jlab personnel. - Reviewed Large Dynamic Range Diagnostic status with J. Gubeli to determine completion steps before shipping to Fermilab. - Discussed possible installation of the WiFEL gun at Jefferson Lab. Next two weeks (Apr 29 - May 10) - Prepare for and attend the "Basic Research Needs Workshop on Compact Accelerators for Security and Medicine” - Submit new text for LOD and safety envelope for LERF. - Summarize the ERLs for EIC workshop. - Host Bruno Muratori for Accelerator Seminar Host and write up minutes for Status meeting for the FOA cooling project.
