     - I was taking USPAS online courses. The rst course was \Spin Dynamics" from June 07 - June 19. The course was great. I learned the fundamental concepts on spin dynamics. And I also learned the basic concept of \Zgoubi" software to study the spin dynamics. That was a big class and great course. From June 21 - July 02, I was taking\Machine Learning and Optimization" course. Learned a lot from these courses.
Next two weeks (July 5 - July 16)
     - I will be working on dual energy storage ring cooler design with new design using isochronous arc lattice. Damping times and IBS times are calculated and initial particle tracking simulation is going on.

Amy Sy

Previous two weeks (June 21 - July 2)
     - Laser particle counter: Continued data analysis of 6-channel data with both 1 Hz and more sporadic wire sweeping events. Vendor will return on July 1 with software updates and for discussion on issues that have arisen during data analysis, e.g. unphysical magnitudes of displacement signal for one channel only, ways to improve the internal algorithm used for calculation of the displacement signal, and others. Will give update on LPC status at biweekly PIT meeting. Discussions with Detector Group on methods for well-defined and well-controlled wire/particle event generation.
     - Looking into PD info (daily meetings, existing summaries) to better understand PD responsibilities for a possible stint as PD.
Next two weeks (July 5 - July 16)
     - Laser particle counter: Continued data analysis of 6-channel data with 1-2 Hz wire sweeping rate. Vendor visit on July 6 focused on observation of different operating modes and implications on event identification both pre and post data analysis. Currently seeing 3-4 operating modes in which events are often seen in one of the two available signals per channel, and trying to understand why channels switch between operating modes as the system settles. Vendor will return the week of July 12-16 with updated software that allows for high data resolution in both signals (shared bandwidth between the two signals), and with a technical representative who can hopefully help with understanding some of the operating mode issues.
     - Discussion with M. Poelker on studies of gas bremsstrahlung in the CEBAF linacs, possibility of detection using radiation monitors, and mitigation efforts including ion clearing gaps. Literature study on gas bremsstrahlung in electron storage rings and ion clearing methods at Cornell. Discussion with M. Poelker and J. Grames on July 12.

Andrew Hutton

Previous two weeks (June 21 - July 2)
     - Isotopes: I have been told not to submit a proposal that involves irradiations at LERF until he talks with the DOE. At this time, I am working with my UVA collaborators to craft a proposal where they buy copper 67 and carry out all of the radiochemistry. I still need to close out the current grant, after which, I do not see how I can l can keep our team together, which will make it difficult for Jefferson Lab to get back into isotopes. Sad!
     - On the other hand, Loida is doing really well with her program to search for new radioisotope production pathways. She has submitted an Abstract to AccApp’2021 and I have contacted the Program Chair regarding student funding for her to attend in person.
     - ERL Panel: getting more active again; I will be presenting the present status to the Particle Physics community on July 9 and spent a lot of time preparing it. Max Brüker has been an incredible help to us in editing the document, and will be getting more and more involved.
     - PERLE:I had a PERLE Collaboration Board meeting on Friday, June 25. We are informed that the CNRS have signed the ICRADA and sent it via DHL to Jefferson Lab, but we haven’t seen it yet. All the other collaborators have signed the Collaboration Agreement except for BINP. Emails to the BINP representative went unanswered, so I contacted the BINP Lab Director and he immediately agreed to sign it and appointed a new representative. Our participation will be more difficult with the departure of Frank Marhauser.
Next two weeks (July 5 - July 16)
     - Isotopes: a really busy time with several meetings with UVA and NMT. As it stands, UVA will proceed with a proposal that is purely biological, and Jefferson Lab and NMT will not be involved. NMT will lead a proposal to study Scandium47 with irradiations at the Idaho Accelerator Center. We would probably be involved in targeted - still being worked out. The end of project write up for our current isotope funding is due July 30, I haven’t yet started to put it together.
     - ERL: I gave my ERL talk File:ERL RD Roadmap July 2021.pdf on Friday July 9 to about 145 people. This took up a lot of time. The ERL sub-Panel took up even more time as we have wrestled with understanding the CERC. Next week, I will have the last meeting on the CERC as well as the first meeting where Telnov will present the ERLC. I foresee another frenetic round of interactions between the sub-Panel members who are incredibly active - I regularly have a dozen emails early in the morning as the others get up before me! I contacted Wim Leemans, now at DESY, to try and talk him into participating in PERLE. We will have a video-conference next week. With the loss of Frank Marhauser and all the EIC work, I do not see Jefferson Lab having a big involvement in the SRF for PERLE, so maybe we can work with DESY to participate in the SRF. Hopefully, Alex will be able to continue leading the optics studies.
     - HIPERLAC: I responded to questions from Leigh and next week I have to prepare a talk.
     - ALcC: we will have a meeting on July 13 to discuss the ILC status.
