Previous (Jun 22 - Jul 3) - Studied some material on RF feedback issues, gap transient effects, and storage ring instabilities - The IMP article is now in the approval queue and awaiting signatures. Next (Jul 6 - Jul 17) - Presumably more literature study, but soon we're going to need a starting point for actual simulations. Whether the simulations by Themis or those by the BNL colleagues are closer to reality when it comes to predicting the important issues is not clear yet. - Hopefully submit the IMP article for publication.

Previous two weeks (May 25 - Jun 5) - Submission of LDRD proposal on preservation of magnetized ion beams. - Optimization of various compact spin rotator designs using ZGOUBI and TUNE. Testing various combined function magnet configurations for spin rotation at 18 GeV, and then modifying those configurations to test for effectiveness at 10 and 5 GeV. Solutions exist at each electron energy, but further optimization is ongoing to find a solution for all energies with minimal orbit excursion in the spin rotator. - MADX simulations for design of upstream/rear ion optics in the second IR. Matching to existing optics for the primary IR just beyond the crab cavity location. - Collected and edited inputs for the EIC design update newsletter. Next two weeks (Jun 8 - Jun 19) - Working out a distribution strategy for the EIC newsletter. - Continued work on spin rotator optimization simulations. - Continued work on upstream/rear ion optics for the second IR.
