     - Studied some material on RF feedback issues, gap transient effects, and storage ring instabilities
     -	The IMP article is now in the approval queue and awaiting signatures.
  Next (Jul 6 - Jul 17)
     - Presumably more literature study, but soon we're going to need a starting point for actual simulations. Whether 
       the simulations by Themis or those by the BNL colleagues are closer to reality when it comes to predicting the important 
       issues is not clear yet.
     -	Hopefully submit the IMP article for publication.

     - Single particle tracking with synchrotron radiation on.
     - Many particle tracking with synchrotron radiation on.
     - Equilibrium beam emittance and energy spread estimation from elegant particle tracking. Compared those values with analytical values.
     - For a long run with bunched beam and many particles, decided to go with parallel elegant. Asked Yves to install in JLab ifarm

     - Installation of PELEGANT in JLab ifarm is in progress
     - Dynamic Aperture, Momentum Aperture and Touschek Lifetime calculation
     - Run simulation using PELEGANT

     - Optimization of coupling in the electron collider ring to improve the polarization lifetime and providing input for beam-beam simulations
     - Development of a numerical technique for calculating the ion polarization lifetime
     - Analysis of the ifarm simulation results of the two-energy storage ring using a Jupyter notebook
     - Optimization of the quadrupole strengths of the 2nd IR and work on geometric and optical match of the 2nd IR to the rest of the collider lattices
     - Preparation and presentation of an Accelerator Physics seminar on the spin transparency mode in synchrotrons
   Next two weeks (Aug 17 - Aug 28)
     - Work on the 2nd IR, forward acceptance simulations
     - Effect of crabbing on the electron and ion polarizations
     - Study of ion polarization lifetime and bench-marking lifetime calculations against simulation results
     - Checking dynamics in the electron collider ring
     - Optimization of the beam dynamics in a two-energy storage ring
     - Spin transparency experiment simulations




Amy Sy

   Previous two weeks (May 25 - Jun 5)
     - Submission of LDRD proposal on preservation of magnetized ion beams.
     - Optimization of various compact spin rotator designs using ZGOUBI and TUNE. Testing various combined function magnet configurations for spin rotation at 18 GeV, and then modifying those configurations to test for effectiveness 
       at 10 and 5 GeV. Solutions exist at each electron energy, but further optimization is ongoing to find a solution for all energies with minimal orbit excursion in the spin rotator.
     - MADX simulations for design of upstream/rear ion optics in the second IR. Matching to existing optics for the primary IR just beyond the crab cavity location.
     - Collected and edited inputs for the EIC design update newsletter.
   Next two weeks (Jun 8 - Jun 19)
     - Working out a distribution strategy for the EIC newsletter.
     - Continued work on spin rotator optimization simulations.
     - Continued work on upstream/rear ion optics for the second IR.







Computational Physics - Yves Roblin

     - Wrote notes on how to determine tunes by tracking in elegant
     - New method to calculate tune diffusion implemented in python
     - Bteam meetings, support for restart
     - AI meetings, litterature search and reading on AI, in particular the
     - Concept of using streaming AI's for CEBAF data.
     - Vacation (June 1-5th)
   Next two weeks (Jun 8 - Jun 19)
     - Build the latest (very latest, from the subversion branch.) Pelegant for the farm
     - Wrote scripts for bhawin to allow for running Pelegant with multiple processors and across computing nodes using SLURM.
     - Next, will attempt to rebuild bb3d and do the same for it. (it is currently limited to running multiple processors but only on one node)
     - AI lunch series, AI reading, working on drafting proposals for using streaming AIs in order to process the CEBAF data
     - Bteam, getting ready for restart, discussions with Hall A/C regarding engineered controls for beam excursions

     - Explore implementing the beta matching using beam jitter from the paper Jay sent around

He Zhang

   Previous two weeks (Jun 8 - Jun 19)     
     - Repeated previous simulations using the single particle model. Find inconsistency between the single particle model and the Monte Carlo model in BETACOOL. The question is whether to count in the position contribution 
       when calculating the longitudinal emittance. The single particle model counts it in, while the Monte Carlo model not. Put this into slides to Alexei.  
     - Tested the Meshkov formula for magnetized cooling in JSPEC.
   Next two weeks (Jun 22 - Jul 2) 
     - Finish the DS formula for magnetized cooling in JSPEC. Start to work on general IBS.  
     - Continue simulation on IMP experiment.

     - Isotope Experiment – Making models and running simulation on a 50kW design. Exploring the idea of removing the beryllium window an using an integrated window/radiator. This can be accomplished by 
       explosion welding the tungsten radiator to a copper tube with the other end of this copper tube explosion welded to a conflate flange.
   Next two weeks (Jun 22 - Jul 3)
     - Isotopes – Continue working on a 50kW design. Creating a model of an integrated window/radiator and running thermal simulations. Talking to vendors about explosion welding.
     - RADBIS – Order hardware needed for this project.
     - RADHAL – Order hardware needed for this project.
