Previous two weeks (Nov 8 - Nov 19) - Working on EIC Beam-Beam project: For valuating emittance growth rate for different rings, I used the stable models of JLEIC which was offered by Vasiliy to study effects of crab cavity multipoles and RF noise, the simulations has been implemented. Previous two weeks (Nov 8 - Nov 19) - Read more on writing tips & guidelines for a journal paper. And start working on the paper. - Choose an individual from the NL lattice solution, compared the solution with 10-pass SL lattice. - Since there is some discrepancy with NL & SL optics I had to compare optics plots of all the individuals. - Created OptiM file for each pass using the chosen solution, and started ARC matching using OptiM. Next two weeks (Nov 22 - Dec 3) - Complete ARC scaling & matching for the chosen NL lattice setting and build the 10-pass lattice. - Work on completing the paper. - Work on writing an abstract for IPAC’22.

Previous two weeks (Nov 8 - Nov 19) - Isotopes: Loida made progress on her AccApp’2021 presentation, I only wrote a small part of our paper. I reviewed the papers by the two NMT grad students, Geno and Robert who will also present at AccApp’2021 (I am co-author on those as well). - Lila is applying to graduate schools across the country - I have sent in half a dozen references this week - with more to come. I hope that more than one accepts her, then I will be advising her on which to accept. - ERL Panel and sub-Panel: We have a near final version of both the ERL Roadmap Report and the ERL sub-Panel report. They are both being edited now (Max Bruker has been really helpful in this). The ERL Panel report is getting a lot of last minute changes as more people weigh in on their particular area. Fortunately, this has not been too much work for me - Max Klein has taken this to heart. But I have been on a couple of video conferences with the lab Directors Group and with Dave Newbold (the chair of the LDG) to smooth some of the concerns. - PERLE: Believe it or not, the ICRADA has been returned to the DOE with the IN2P3 accepting our original wording that they objected to a couple of months ago. Is there light at the end of the tunnel? No idea! - I delivered my talk at the retirement seminar for Valeri Lebedev, trying to recreate ancient history (thanks to Alex and Mike Spata for their help). It seemed to be a surprising amount of work - more than I had anticipated. Next two weeks (Nov 22 - Dec 3) - Isotopes: I completed the first draft of the AccApp’2021 paper with Loida. Loida is still working on the presentation - I think this will keep me busy over Thanksgiving! Loida has applied to three grad schools, I need to submit recommendations. - Lila has applied to another two grad schools, I will be sending off references to those as well. It is a pleasure to be shepherding two of my women REU students to grad school, which is the ultimate goal of the REU program! - ERL Panel and sub-Panel: almost complete. The Roadmap was frozen on November 19 and sent to the CERN Council. We are now finalizing the long write-up that will become a CERN Yellow report. The sub-Panel Report is an Appendix of this document. Fortunately for me, most of the work is now editing (Max Bruker is phenomenal!) and Max Klein is taking the lead on beating the bushes for the final updates. - ALCC: I attended a meeting of the ALCC, the ILC is still mired in problems; apparently the DIET is concerned that the ILC trajectory might follow that of ITER - a totally reasonable concern. I was pleased that in this meeting, Mont stated that he had seen a copy of the Roadmap report and was particularly impressed with the ERL section! - ACCAPP'2021: I will be attending AccApp’2021 virtually next week, fortunately, I have been removed from chairing several sessions as they require chairpersons to be physically present in case of snafus. Nevertheless, as topic organizer for the Accelerator facilities, I am expected to attend, and I have four students to support. So I won’t get much else done. - VNECA: I have a meeting scheduled next week, I will be taking vacation to attend
