  Previous (Aug 31 - Sept 11)
     - Linac 2020 conference
     - Lots of fun at the UITF. Very nice machine with just the right size. I haven't touched a lot of hardware so far but got to play with the
       beam and learn the controls.
     -	The IMP paper is back from the review. There is some homework to be done but nothing backbreaking.
  Next (Sept 14 - Sept 25)
     - IBIC
     -	More UITF fun
     -	IBS and cooling simulations to back up the experimental results presented in the IMP paper. We should aim for resubmission of the
       manuscript within 1--2 weeks.

     - Isotopes –Attended several planning meetings. Setup some equipment needed for next week’s run
     - ARDDOT - Had a few meeting with the Injector group to determine if the new viewer image design would work for them. They have some
very tight spaces. Met with the I&C group to show them the viewer imager and to test a lipstick replacement camera. The tested camera
has an nonadjustable lens an images a lot of the tube with a small image of the view screen. Not sure that it is a good replacement. The
I&C folks had to run to another call and didn’t have time to assemble an imager. We will reschedule for another time. Have inventoried
and conveniently placed all the parts received for the imager. Still have a few parts including the cameras that have not arrived.
Next two weeks (Aug 31 - Sept 11)
     - Isotopes – Help as much as possible with the upcoming experimental run.

Andrew Hutton

Previous two weeks (Aug 17 - Aug 28)
     - I was on vacation the week of August 17 - 24.
     - This week I started to look over the EIC CDR for a second time; I also attended several EIC meetings.
     - I participated in a VNECA meeting and sent an email to Stuart and Andrei regarding the draft “Virginia is Nuclear Strategic Plan 2020-
       2024” which I also forwarded.
     - I also participated inn an early morning videoconference with Stuart, Andrei, Achille Stocchi (Director of IJCLab), Max Klein and Oliver
Brüning regarding PERLE. The Europeans made a concerted effort to convince Stuart and Andrei of the importance of Jefferson Lab
involvement in PERLE, perhaps with some success. In addition, I have been answering questions from the DOE regarding the PERLE ICRADA
(Jessie Tenbusch has been an enormous help in this).
     - I have prepared a request to the Experiment Review Committee to carry out a calibration run in addition to the irradiations already
partially approved. Interesting new fact: there are now two FLUKAs; FLUKA2020 from INFN and FLUKA 4.0 from CERN. We are trying to
find out if they are the same or different!
     - I missed the meeting on the organization of a Linear Collider Workshop while I was on vacation; I distributed the information to Stuart,
       Andrei, Mike Spata and Todd.
Next two weeks (Aug 31 - Sept 11)
     - I attended various EIC meetings. I also spent some time studying the draft report from the Alternate Strong Cooling Task Force. This
resulted in a suggestion to Geoff and Fanglei to shorten the high energy section of the dual ring cooler; I sent the same recommendation
to Jorg Kewish for the single ring cooler. I proposed a method to arrange the cross-over between the high and low energy sections of
the dual energy cooler using twin-axis SRF cavities. Finally, I suggested to Jorg that he modify the wiggler design he developed for
the single ring cooler to be compatible with the high energy section of the dual axis cooler ring.
     - The modified (and much improved) PERLE ICRADA was sent to the DOE.
     - We have been making detailed plans for the Isotope Irradiations, scheduled for September 13 - 19.
     - I have been active on the AWLC 2020 organization, proposing three talks from Jefferson Lab, which were accepted.
