Our Mission

To develop and maintain high performance electron sources and injectors for particle accelerators. Our responsibilities include the 12 GeV Continuous Electron Beam Accelerator Facility (CEBAF) polarized photo-injector, the Low Energy Research Facility (LERF) High Current ERL, the Gun Test Stand (GTS) and the Upgrade Injector Test Facility (UITF). Our work revolves around the production of both polarized and unpolarized electron and positron beams with special interest in high voltage DC guns, RF synchronized lasers, high vacuum, novel photocathodes, and precision polarimetry.
