- Max:
- R28 measurements at UITF
- Moved laser spot on grid
- Orbits extrapolated from solenoid center giving 15--20 cm focal length
- Orbits extrapolated from BPMs giving 25 cm focal length
- Measurements don't agree 100%, but this gun focuses a little more strongly than what we've seen from the R28
- Could be the puck, may have more recess than the previous one
- Does not seem to be a big deal operationally, likely would have remained unnoticed
- Tolerance on hole diameter
- Comparison 6.2 mm and 6.4 mm
- Seems to be a 10% effect
- Junction angle, does it matter optically?
- Comparison 30 and 60 degrees
- Also seems to be a 10% effect
- Effect of edge radius at junction
- Zoomed out
- 0.5 mm radius
- 0.25 mm radius
- 0.25 mm radius, protruding lip
- This may not end up being a big deal. The protruding case has the worst field enhancement, perhaps 20%, need finer mesh to quantify. Small radius w/o protrusion is best, barely worse than a smooth joint.
- CST vs Poisson
- Comparing Ez for a test case
- Not exactly equal, not 100% sure yet if caused by different geometry or cylindrical symmetry
- R28 measurements at UITF
- Carlos: Created table of parameters and SharePoint site
