Objectives

In the grand scheme of things, I'm building data in order to see the Kerr effect occur quantitatively. We plan to move from Green to Red and then Infrared. Reversing the Polarity should be very interesting and will allow for a total of 9 magnet configurations (4 magnets). Each time I measure a power an average of 5 measurements should establish more clarity. This entails me sitting and waiting No more scans, but rather a focus on the range say: 0-80 degrees rotation.

Power measured will be comprised of the power of the room, power leaked through the cross polarization, and the power from the Kerr signal itself.

  • Aligned the laser to ensure concise measurements for the next magnet measurement.
