- USPAS “Fundamentals of Accelerator Physics and Technology with Simulations and Measurements Lab”
- Added by Gabriel Palacios-Serrano on July 8, 2020
Prof Eric Prebys (UC Davis & Crocker Nuclear Lab) has recorded an abbreviated online version of his USPAS undergraduate-level course “Fundamentals of Accelerator Physics and Technology with Simulations and Measurements Lab”. In addition to his lectures, Prof Prebys provides homework and a final exam (both ungraded). Lectures and homework will be posted and can be self-paced, but labs (roughly half the usual class) cannot be implemented online. Full details are available on his website https://eprebys.faculty.ucdavis.edu/accelerator-physics-fundamentals-online-course/. The course will use “An Introduction to the Physics of High Energy Accelerators” by Edwards and Syphers (Wiley & Sons, 1993) and a link to the online version of this textbook is provided on the website.
Four live question and answer sessions are scheduled from noon – 2:00 (Pacific Daylight Time) on Wednesday July 1, Monday, July 6, Wednesday July 8, and Friday July 10, 2020, with the possibility of additional sessions if there is interest. These sessions are free and open to anyone, but registration is required. The Zoom registration link can be found at https://ucdavis.zoom.us/meeting/register/tJMvdu6gpzIoEteboBJA3Z3O5dnvXNBphSlb
ODU REYES: Remote Experience for Young Engineers and Scientists
This summer join us virtually at Old Dominion University for an engaging STEM-based summer enrichment program that is free and open to the public.
From June 22 to August 13, 2020, join a group of high-achieving, motivated and ambitious learners from all over the world for a virtual science and engineering program, Remote Experience for Young Engineers and Scientists (REYES). This program, developed originally with high school and college students in mind, is open to people of all ages.
During this unique 8-week summer experience, ODU will offer an online program filled with STEM classes, guest lectures, activities and opportunities for social engagement. Some of the topics covered in this program will include astronomy, artificial intelligence, solving crimes through entomology, engineering, coronavirus simulation with gaming technologies, psychology, Python coding and more. You have the option to sign up to attend one lecture or the entire summer program. https://odu.edu/reyes/recordings
