kev.ele

# uses beam line G2U which extends from marker PARM 0.20 m downstream of photocathode to valve upstream of cryounit VBV1M01
# G2U element names are entirely nomenclature per ME song sheet to be released Dwg. JL0024891
# present initial conditions are based on CEBAF 100-130 keV gun with typical laser spot size
# more realistic initial conditions will be generated for 200 keV and 350 keV inverted guns with ball electrode
# Wien filter set for 0 deg spin rotation (i.e. a drift) is used
# 1497 MHz chopping cavities are set to produce 1mm deflection at center of chopper
# 750 MHz bunching cavity is set for modest bunching, to be studied with longitudinal code
# output file kev.out shows floor layout where X=0, Y=1.0668m, Z=0m is at "START POINT" on Dwg. JL0024891

mev.ele

# input file uses beam line U2HD which extends from valve upstream cryounit VBV1M01 to final beam dump IDL5M01
# U2HD element names are presently a mix of generic names and nomenclature, until optics and ME design is refined
# MeV transport line in three sequential sections based on guidance from Dave Douglas:
  * 4-quad telescope to match from cryounit into chicane
  * 3-quad vertical chicane
  * 4-quad telescope to set spot at HDIce
# Optimization of quadrupoles occurs in three steps:
 * First, the chicane is optimized to remove dispersion at center of chicane, matching at marker MKMATCH
 * Second, the telescope from cryounit to chicane is optimized to control spot size at center of chicane, matching at marker MKMATCH
 * Third, the telescope after chicane is optimized to control spot size at entrance of HDIce, matching at marker MKFINAL
# input conditions are based on CEBAF emittance measurements at 7 MeV/c just after cryounit
# note that cryounit is presently treated as a drift, until dimensions for 2-cell and 7-cell are known
# output file mev.out shows (continued) floor layout where X=0, Y=1.0668m, Z=0m is at "START POINT" on Dwg. JL0024891
