Our Mission: To develop and maintain high performance electron sources and injectors for particle accelerators. Our responsibilities include the 12 GeV Continuous Electron Beam Accelerator Facility (CEBAF), the 170 MeV Low Energy Research Facility (LERF) ERL, then 10 MeV Upgrade Injector Test Facility (UITF) and the 500 keV Gun Test Stand (GTS). Our research interests span high voltage DC photoguns, RF synchronized lasers, extreme high vacuum, robust and efficient photocathodes, the production of spin polarized electrons beams, magnetized beams and positrons, polarized and magnetized electron beams, and precision polarimetry.
