Steps for building Wien filter:

  1. Fabricate coils, magnet (1010 steel), nickel (alloy 200) magnet mirror, vacuum chamber
  2. Anneal nickel
  3. Assemble magnet with end flanges (if possible)
  4. Measure magnetic field profile (average a few passes) on centerline
  5. Cut electrode profile to match magnetic profile
  6. EP electrodes
  7. Assemble with electrodes
