Notes from this meeting:

  • Bubble Chamber:
  1. Ready to fill with mercury and N2O - planned for next week
  2. Need to do thermal modeling of temperature gradient across chamber
  3. Argonne will build short stand for chamber to fit JLab beamline

  • Fluorine Chamber C4F10 is still of interest:
  1. Test Bremsstrahlung beam and Penfold-leiss unfolding
  2. Measure sensitivity to gammas (of interest to dark matter search, now at 10-10)
  3. Measure 19F(γ,α)15N cross section at low energy (Eelectron = 4 - 7 MeV)

  • JLab Schedule:
  1. At 2K from June 20th to September 30th
  2. Now we have a clear path forward for obtaining pressure vessel approval
