Goals
The purpose of this weekly meeting is to discuss plant operations and group projects with the cryogenics group managers and supervisors. During this meeting we will discuss ongoing and future projects, priorities, manpower, schedules, expenditures, and problems.
Agenda and Notes
1. Operations
The current plan is to transition to 2K on both CHL plants and LINACS on Monday.
There was an ESR shutdown this morning due to a problem with the cooling tower electrical feeder. A hose broke on the acid for the water treatment system and acid water was sprayed on to the voltage verification unit resulting in a short that tripped a MDP breaker. FM corrected the problem and power was restored and the plant was restarted. It will take a day or two to recool the Hall's.
CMTF is having problems with the LCLS2 cryomodule testing. They have had issues with reaching the desired pressure.
2. Projects
ESR Hall A 15K utube. A new utube is being built with a manual valve to replace the existing utube because it has a leak.
UIM
Work was scheduled to be finished by Christmas but it will drag over about 1 week. The reworked ventures should be here soon. (Dano, Troy, Fuentes, Conlin). The electrical team owes me an update.
Need to finish the plan.
CHL2 C6
Material has come in. As soon as a crew frees up they will start on the spools. (Likely Willy)
Must order electrical supplies including 4160v wire, 120v/480v conduit and wire.
We must find out the status of the funding.
UITF
Pressure tests completed. Vacuum, leaks sealed. CM should be in place in 2 weeks to allow the final utube measurements to be taken. 4-5 weeks for building utubes. We have the parts.(Roy)
The thermosiphon is expected to take 2 month to build and install. Likely to be Dano's crew once they complete UIM.
HDIce return line is a fill in. Its low priority.
Hall B 12GeV
Flex lines for solenoid can. 4 months. (Jay)
MSU
Working to accumulate the pressure systems documentation.
LCLS2
All but 2 bayonets were shipped. The remaining 2 had to wait for the original valve we spec'ed. The SLAC group overrode our valve selection for a cheaper valve that does not meet pressure requirements.
We are building two recovery compressors. Due in July 17'. Will take more hours because of seismic modifications. (Issac)
We are building a guard vac skid for LCLS2. Not started. Due end of October 17'(Issac)
SLAC operations is interested in drafting a long term support agreement for after the machine is running. (??)
JLAB CHL
Guard vac skid is installed. The electrical power and controls need to be installed. They have one more box to install. We are waiting for wire to be delivered.
C7?
Vaporizer
We have most of the parts.
CTF
Kinney suction piping is in engineering and design. The piping will be inside. We plan to buy supplies and build by the end of FY17'
The gas management system modifications are in planning.
Action Items
1. Must keep meeting to no more than 30 minutes
2. Finish appraisals
3. Kelly and Jonathan will work on proposal for the SLAC operations support agreement.
