DISCUSSION ITEMS
- Updates on simulation, models, design
- Hall D plans for 2021
- Other
PARTICIPANTS: A. Comer, A. Asaturyan, B. Wojtsekhowski, R. Ent, H. Mkrtchyan, M. Boer, S. Lassiter, V. Tadevosyan, T. Horn, G. Niculescu
SIMULATIONS AND DESIGN - POWER DEPOSITION IN COPPER (Bogdan, Gabriel, Steven)
- Calculated fluxes in FLUKA
- two versions of FLUKA now
- FEA models set up: allows for investigating different cuts (here, vertical) to investigate stress/strain on copper sections
- Initial finding: material gets hot, but stress/strain may not be too large overall
- Action: continue to determine the impact of thermal swelling on deformation of copper beam pipe for long-term operation in beam
TCS UPDATES: TRIGGER (Vardan)
- Accidental rate is high (14 MHz) - need to reduce to <100kHz for fADC
- Accidental rate can be reduced to 2.4 MHz by adding a threshold cut on the summed e-+e+ energy deposition
- Action: Investigate possible ways to further reduce background
- clustering instead of full quadrant
NEXT MEETING: FRIDAY 12 MARCH AT 8:00AM ET
