DISCUSSION OF 2022 PLANNING

  • Overarching thought: emphasis on how QCD phenomenology and modeling, QCD continuum, LQCD and data all can work together to solve questions on meson structure

THEORY TALKS

  • Discussion of the proposal to place more emphasis on theory talks in 2022
  • short presentation on what measurements or kinematic regions of a measurement would be most valuable
  • 20-30min + questions
  • informal seminar
  • show piece that is holding up progress on theory side
  • discussion
  • anticipated format: 20-30min presentations followed by questions - informal seminar
  • Possible topics:
  • Mass sum rule of the pion
  • Impact of lattice on global fitting (Patrick done with these studies - which observables are of interest etc.)
  • Challenges of meson physics from lattice point of view
  • Pion TMD, e.g., using low energy DY, can these low PT have impact on collinear pion PDF too, EIC - pT dependence of pion and/or kaon further discussions
  • Pion GPD
  • Kaon structure functions and form factor
  • Statistical models for pion structure functions
  • ...

EXPERIMENTAL ACTIVITIES

  • Kaon Form Factor at EIC - feasibility studies (Love Preet, URegina)
  • Pion Structure Functions model optimizations (Richard Trotta, CUA)
  • Kaon Structure Functions model optimizations (Rachel Montgomery, Glasgow U.)
  • Revisit simulation to guide the design - different interaction regions - need software to be ready
  • Reconstruction setup in Geant4 simulations (John Arrington, Shujie Li, LBNL)
  • Simulation software updates and in particular Fun4All (Bill Li, W&M)

NEXT MEETING: FRIDAY 25 FEBRUARY AT 12:00PM ET

AGENDA

  • First Theory talk on: Impact of lattice on global fitting (Patrick Barry)
  • Discussion
  • Updates
  • Other
