CPS DOCUMENT ACTION ITEMS
- Determine achievable accuracy of polarization - estimate of relative uncertainty of target polarization, e.g. due to radiation damage caused by electron-positron pair production (Jixie/Dustin/Donal)
- Write up field quality of polarized target (Bogdan)
- Add phrasing or rephrase activation dose at one foot from the scattering chamber after ~100 hour run (Tanja/Rolf)
- Overall editing to address report comment that narrative doesn't flow smoothly and errors in the figure captions (David H.)
- Discussion of preliminary tuning of shielding (Bogdan/Rolf)
SUMMARY OF THE DISCUSSION
CPS DOCUMENT
- Discussion about updating document following the guidance in the report from JLab - see action items above
- further detail on report final remark on narrative not flowing smoothly: check for 1) concatenated sections in which sentences may not follow logically and require knowledge of subsequent pages, 2) magnet figure - component not described, 3) figures with the same captions
- Aim is to finalize all updates by 21 December
POSSIBLE PUBLICATION IN NIM OR SIMILAR
- General consensus is that it is a good idea - also a way to show new capabilities at JLab to people who may not yet be aware
- Aiming for instrumentation paper, so not all pieces of current technical document, e.g. regarding the science, may be needed
- Aim for putting together an initial draft by 2019 Hall A/C Winter meeting and solicit feedback
CPS CONSTRUCTION
- Discussion about MSRI program
- Collaborators from universities will try to get guidance from NSF
NEXT MEETING: TUESDAY 4 DECEMBER AT 3PM (EST)
