BEAM TEST DESY - FEBRUARY

 +
* Things going smoothly. A few downtimes but nothing major
 +
 +
* Energy resolution with small collimator (2mm x 2mm) is much smaller than the quoted in the paper, regardless of beam energy
 +
::* the number of 150 MeV form the paper was done in T21 test area and with a 18mm x 18mm collimator

* ASIC readout
 +
::* 400 SiPMs (16 per channel) - have tested all of them and all are working
 +
::* Found some dead channels in the ASICS - re-arranged elements so that all but one SiPM have a working ASIC channel
 +
::* Have seen signals and have been running calibrations
 +
::* Started with independent (read out each channel individually) readout and have been doing energy (1-5 GeV, no rate at 6 GeV) and position scans (around central crystal) across the calorimeter
 +
::* Central crystal with one SiPM gets resolution of ~10% at 1 GeV
 +
::* Took data to gain match each of the channels so that can gain match and then

OVERALL UPDATES

  • No news on NSF pre-proposal (see notes below)
  • Notes from DSC-ePIC meeting on 2/7 posted in Wiki

BEAM TEST DESY - FEBRUARY

  • Things going smoothly. A few downtimes but nothing major
  • Energy resolution with small collimator (2mm x 2mm) is much smaller than the quoted in the paper, regardless of beam energy
  • the number of 150 MeV form the paper was done in T21 test area and with a 18mm x 18mm collimator
  • ASIC readout
  • 400 SiPMs (16 per channel) - have tested all of them and all are working
  • Found some dead channels in the ASICS - re-arranged elements so that all but one SiPM have a working ASIC channel
  • Have seen signals and have been running calibrations
  • Started with independent (read out each channel individually) readout and have been doing energy (1-5 GeV, no rate at 6 GeV) and position scans (around central crystal) across the calorimeter
