EEEMCAL IN DETECTOR PROPOSALS

ATHENA

  • Discussion about reuse of materials
  • Implementation in simulation DD4HEP
  • Action: Check with Dmitry what is implemented and plans for hybrid, overall dimensions
  • Action: in two weeks need information on EEEMCal number blocks, cost, etc. - effectively an overview of EEEMCal
  • Weekly meetings: Mondays 7pm ET

CORE

  • Action: check in on EEEMCAL needs

ECCE

  • IJCLab working on implementation in simulation
  • Geometry done - flexible radius
  • Implemented algorithms for energy resolution
  • Studies of pion rejection
  • Full simulations will include full event simulation
  • Discussion of ECCE new configuration of DIRC/EEEMCal
  • Actions:
  • What is the eta coverage with the new DIRC/EEEMCal configuration?
  • What is the change in rates?
  • Send EEEMCal cost estimate to Carlos
  • Weekly meetings: Tuesdays 8am ET

SIMULATIONS:

  • EEEMCAL (Carlos): see point above
  • Barrel EMCAL (Nathaly)
  • Working on algorithms and analysis (energy resolution, optimization of length and width of blocks
  • Pion rejection (Renee)
  • Summer student starting today - setting up simulation

CRYTUR PWO+SIPM DETECTOR (Bruno, Olivier, Irina)

  • Studies suggest that Hamamatsu S14160-3015PS SiPMs seem a good compromise - cost same, performance similar, and lead time is less than S14160-3010
  • Action: post spreadsheet for checking numbers
  • Envision 16 SiPM per crystal
  • All components available commercially - boards design by Crytur
  • SPI Supply +-5V per crystal
  • SPI ADC supply voltage 50V/crystal tower --> action: check regulations at JLab for max voltage

NEXT MEETING: MONDAY 21 JUNE AT 8:30AM ET
