LOW VOLTAGE POWER SUPPLY LAYOUT (Carlos and IJCLab-Orsay team)

  • Discussion of proposal of LV power supply layout
  • general layout with flat cables+extension PCB very good
  • discussion of options to reduce number of cables/connectors - one option: daisy chain in groups at PMT
  • chaining of all channels at PMT was investigated --> many cables make access to PMTs difficult
  • Information on MPOD LV power supplies
  • have three - each has 8 channels (4x +V/4x -V) - 16 are available
  • may use +-3V
  • Action items
  • investigate model of Daisy chaining in groups of X channels
  • calculation of voltage drop allowed (Fernando) --> determines how many channels can be grouped together

HV DIVIDER DESIGN UPDATES (Fernando, Vladimir, Carlos Y.)

  • Prototype divider was tested
  • obtained good results with laser
  • Full divider test including linearity, noise, etc.
  • intial test results encouraging
  • Action items:
  • Refined linearity test with two LEDs
  • Test setup with shielding around PMT
  • Note for final design: shielding mu metal around PMT - connect to ground
  • need provision on PCB for final configuration
  • Timeline: ideally collect information until end of the month

DSG UPDATES (Aaron)

  • Hardware interlock system
  • Extension cables
  • Thermal calculations

MECHANICAL DESIGN/ENGINEERING (Steven L.)

  • Ongoing work on cable layout from SHMS
  • location bottom vs. top
  • top: roof penetration - would likely require a new roof block
  • Cable cart in procurement
  • Downstream magnet and stands in design

NPS JLAB BUDGET ITEMS FOR FY22

  • Request for rough estimates

NEXT MEETING: THURSDAY 29 JULY AT 9:00AM ET
