DISCUSSION LOW VOLTAGE STRATEGY
- Choice of cables
- Size of cables: 22 AWG (thicker cable) instead of 24 AWG?
- worth looking into if there is a solution that offers lower resistivity
- however, need to pay attention to size of connectors that fit on board, etc.
- Is there a AWG available to handle one column?
- Action Items:
- Review calculation and see what cable + connector combination would be possible
- Fernando provide an example of a cable that would work - Orsay team can then optimize
- Option of Voltage stabilizer/regulator
- would have additional power dissipation but provides stabilization
- obtaining negative regulators may be challenging
- if components available then good thing to so (as long as power dissipation not an issue)
- Review of power consumption:
- (optional) stabilizer power consumption ~<20mW (for +- means ~40mW)
- (need) one amplifier dissipates ~120mW
- (need) one divider disspates ~500mW - defines cooling capacity
- total power dissipation increases to ~660mW (originally assumed ~500mW cooling capacity)
- Action item:
- Is cooling capacity sufficient to handle LV? - 660mV instead of 500mW --> need to test
HV DIVIDERS
- Plan final tests next week
- Action Item: Vladimir check setup on Monday
- Final Layout
- Production
