NOISE/OSCILLATIONS ISSUE (Brad, Bob)

  • Noise/oscillation is back
  • was never really gone, but suppressed down to mV level
  • after a long cosmic with same configuration run found that noise/oscillations back
  • impact of temperature?
  • origin of oscillations is at divider - now up to 20mV (lower than before, but still too much for production)
  • shielding around bases - did not make difference
  • Action items:
  • understand nature of feedback mechanism on base and address last bit of remaining oscillation amplitude - reduce it
  • specific tests include the modification on front end of OP-END - low pass filter, Chris earlier modified a few bases - made a difference but not sufficient - need to further optimize

ASSEMBLY ACTIVITIES (Brad, Yeran)

  • DSG working on production GUIs - good progress on LV and HV and thermal readback GUI
  • Installed another rack in EEEL108 to plug in chassis for thermal readout
  • Extension cables - some extra materials purchased and being tested
  • LED and pulser system - met with B. Moffit (software) and W. Gu
  • front end GUI developed by DSG
  • goal is to have beta quality GUI and driver set up by end of December/early January
  • should be able to run LED system from command line earlier
  • Strain relief modifications for cables in both EEL 108 and production
  • 2 people needed 2 hours for 4 bundles

DAQ/Electronics (David H)

  • Action item: event unblocking - need to test in CODA system with f250 (David H)
  • code available in the Analyzer for fADCs and TI
  • take sample data in EEL - e.g., turn off calorimeter
  • David H make sure blocked data are taken and check hcana, then give data file to Ole H
  • Yeran/Artur may be able to help
  • Vladimir/Brad can help
  • multi-block mode - try to generate data with different configurations (crates, etc.)
  • can get blocked data at any time from f250 -

MECHANICAL (Paulo, Steven L.)

  • Beamline delivered
  • Cable strain relief
  • Beam line corrector magnet - major piece that needs to be procured still

PREPARATIONS FOR INSTALLATION

  • Google sheet to capture major items for installation and responsible party
  • Taking shifts on current experiments to gain experience with Hall C equipment, in particular students

NEXT MEETING: 22 DECEMBER AT 9:00AM ET
