MECHANICAL DESIGN
- Work ongoing
- to proceed waiting for decisions on electronics/RO and interfaces with external infrastructure (supports, other detectors, etc.)
- Prototypes for beam test campaigns
- IJCLab-Orsay 5x5 prototype with cooling
- MIT 5x5 prototype with cooling
- Crytur-USA 3x3 prototype with 15um SiPM 3x3mm3 devices (16/crystal)
- Possible beam tests - ongoing planning
- JLab Hall D is available September 2024 - May 2025
- CERN - discussions with Norbert; this would be mixed beam
- DESY
- Action items:
- request time for Hall D prototype testing
- follow up on CERN beam time
- follow up with Douglas on beam test possibilities at DESY in summer 2024
- Pion/hadron beams
- presently considering measuring hadron response with low energy proton beam
- perhaps the CERN beam can serve as pion beam test
READOUT/ELECTRONICS
- Irradiation of SiPMs
- there is a facility at UMass-Lowell that has been used for sPHENIX - a fee is required to use this facility
- tests are presently being planned through collaboration with Giessen U. at low energy hadron beam facilities
- Discussion of needed performance parameters
