UPDATE ON DEINSTALLATION SCHEDULE

  • Calorimeter surveys are done
  • Lead removed from magnet (to get to smaller angles) - lead shielding on magnet has not been surveyed
  • if already removed then use CAD for positioning
  • is shielding in acceptance of calorimeter - no, it only blocks background
  • Discussion that more than one day will be needed for bundling, but overall ~10 days for decabling and bundling seems sufficient
  • Tech support for decabling
  • Collaboration removes and disconnects cables
  • Tech support needed for, e.g., bundle/lifting cables, etc.
  • cables part patch panel to hut will stay
  • Patch panel to detector cables will be used by other experiments
  • Action item: Steven send deinstallation schedule to Jerry

DISCUSSION OF DEINSTALLATION PROCEDURES

  • Discussion of protecting connectors at cable ends
  • possibly foam/tape/plastic wrapping ends of bundle; has been done before (Bogdan)
  • wrap all 1200+ cables
  • different wrapping techniques may be needed for different connectors (LEMO, multi-pin, etc.)
  • Action item: Alexandre meet with Bogdan to review wrapping, then meet with Jerry/Steven L. teams to get any additional feedback, then procure any needed materials

  • Training needed for uncabling cables?
  • Need to check on how to safely reach cables for unbundling; may also need to cut zip ties
  • harness training required for any work on top of the SHMS
  • do we need a scissor lift for any work lower on the SHMS to reach cables, cut zip ties, etc.? - if have MED101 then may get certified for scissor lift
  • Action item: Alexandre check on what is needed to remove the cables, e.g., what is needed to safely reach cables/zip ties/etc., based on that determine what training needed and who has to take the training (including electrical training as needed)

NEXT MEETING: THURSDAY 18 APRIL AT 9AM ET
