PARTICIPANTS: Garth, Love, Yulia, Tanja, Carlos Ayerbe, David, Gianni Salme, Rachel, Avnish, Tyler, Rolf, Craig

David Richards

  • Gluon distribution in proton, pion, etc.
  • pending labor 6 months to 12 months

Avnish (for Richard, Tyler, Rachel) - event generators

  • Include Lambda in event generator studies studies (Rachel, Tyler)
  • How is the link made with detectors? - see Yulia point below
  • Action: work together with Yulia

Yulia - evaluation of detectors

  • reminds of studies of ZDC benchmarking with Lambda and Sigma0
  • Need to pinpoint the vertex - what detectors work for the science
  • Planning to work with two highschool students to work on Monte Carlo samples
  • Action: work together with Richard/Avnish/Tyler/Rachel

Craig

  • Aspects related to TMDs - recently published
  • Proton gravitational form factor and pion gravitational form factor
  • Pion central pressure is greater than proton central pressure and both are larger than pressure in neutron star
  • what happens with heavy quarks? Kaon pressure bigger than pion pressure, and so on
  • working on it - maybe ready on a month or so
  • Onset of scaling in pion and kaon fo

rm factors; expectations of break away from scaling; existing lattice studies are not precise enough to expose this

Patrick

  • Additional hadronic data for constraining the splitting function in the meson analysis
  • two observables depending on the splitting function and two on PDF
  • Analysis on the kaon - also using hadronic data to constrain models
  • Looking at available DY kaon data - explore kaon PDFs

Huey-Wen

  • Impact of lattice on global analysis
  • Revisit kaon PDF in context of combining with global analysis

Love Preet (for Stephen, Garth)

  • Feasibility studies of pion electroproduction through ePIC simulations

NEXT MEETING: 17 OCTOBER 2024 AT 9AM ET
