PARTICIPANTS: Hamlet, Tanja, Gabriel, Carlos, Cristiano, Rosi, Douglas, Admin, Renee, Hrachya, Lei, Vardan, Richard, Miroslav

JMU INTRODUCTION (Gabriel Niculescu)

  • Large undergrad serving institution
  • Long track record in hadron physics
  • Expertise: simulations, designing, building, and testing detectors and detector components (PMTs mostly)

UPDATES FROM ECCE, EICIP6, IR2, CORE, etc.

  • CORE (Carlos)
  • aiming for large area PWO coverage - endcap plus some of barrel
  • ECCE SIMULATIONS MEETING (Rosi)
  • Kick off meeting to get people up and running on Fun4All
  • Action:
  • EEEMCal needs to be implemented in Fun4All - Orsay team has started initial investigation
  • EIC@IP6 INSTITUTIONAL BOARD (All)
  • Starting to assemble institutional board
  • Will have frequent meetings
  • Actions:
  • EEEMCal nominate a calorimeter convener
  • Institutional board meeting representative for EEEMCal: Renee
  • Fill out spreadsheet: check RECAL, under hardware interests: "EM Calorimeter (EEEMCAL)"
  • SUPPORT STRUCTURE (Tanja)
  • Invited to a meeting on 3D model/visualization of detector organized by the project. The general aim to define outer structures for the electron endcap calorimeter (support/mounting points, integration with DIRC readout)
  • Josh Crafts (student/tech at CUA) presented the CAD model of the Hall D FCAL as a possible starting point for the electron endcap calorimeter support structure
  • Action:
  • check on EEEMCAL participation in future 3D model/visualization meetings
  • SIMULATIONS (Cristiano)
  • Implementation of EEEMCAL in simulations ongoing or complete (ESCALATE, FUN4ALL)
  • Optimization implemented in Escalate - on top of the simulation - that pipeline is basically ready

  • PROTOTYPE TESTS (Douglas, Tanja)
  • JLab tests expected starting August 23 and running into December 2021 (8 weeks + 7.5 weeks) - EEEMCAL anticipated to run ~3 weeks in the first period and ~4 weeks in the second period

Period 1: mRICH + GEMTRD/MPGD EEEMCal1 + GEMTRD/MPGD OTRFT + GEMTRD/MPGD Period 2: OTRFT + GEMTRD/MPGD EEEMCal2 (+ GEMTRD/MPGD pending further discussions) EEEMCal3/TPEX 5x5

  • DESY tests being planned for fall 2021 - expect ~2 weeks EEEMCal tests (streaming readout - test different boards)
  • Workshop on streaming readout at end of April
  • Discussion Research outline (all)
  • Action:
  • each group look over and tweak as needed
  • Add paragraph at the end to make clear that aware of proposal initiatives and how EEEMCal would fit into each; engagement in these detector proposals

NEXT MEETING: MONDAY 19 APRIL AT 8:30AM ET
