MAGNET

  • Main and corrector coil procurement has been submitted
  • Discussion about yoke procurement
  • Revised statement of work submitted to CUA
  • re-quotation requests have been submitted
  • discussion about shipping of final product

HIGH VOLTAGE DIVIDERS

  • Discussion about changing the current design to that used by Hall D - an optimized version of the NPS one Hamlet and Popov developed
  • The circular shape is shorter and more compact - advantageous for the calorimeter thermo-stabilized box
  • Need to optimize divider for use with fADCs taking into account the shape of the pulse. Previous studies assumed a regular ADC, which gives integrated charge if the signal and is not sensitive to its shape. If high rate and amplitude change the shape, this would impact linearity and resolution of the calorimeter
  • Action item: check that the previously determined rate capability of up to 2 MHz still applies and that the pulse shape is independent of rate and/or amplitude. Note that this test has to be done even if we keep the original NPS divider design

CONNECTORS, CABLING, INFRASTRUCTURE

  • Discussion about connectors. Two options:
  • Primex: special plate with signal, HV, booster - many cables, 7 cables needed
  • NPS/Hall D: Lemo signal and HV connector for each module with a short cable
  • Action Item: Decide on connectors, then proceed with drawings of the full schematic for the calorimeter. Note the constraint is that the patch panel will be at the front of the SHMS - need to know what comes from the calo

CRYSTALS

  • SICCAS procurement request submitted awaiting PO
  • Discussion with CRYTUR about new, lower pricing options

FRAME

  • Currently working on curing systems - procuring components for these studies

HIGH INTENSITY PHOTON SOURCE

  • Bogdan's calculation shows radiation conditions ~1 day after beam off
  • 1-2 mr/hr aound the beam direction into the pivot area
  • Action items: 1) benchmark simulations/calculations, 2) explore if other materials can provide additional gain
