General Meeting Summary 4/25/13

BACKGROUND STUDIES/DETECTOR

• Draft of instrumentation sections almost ready. The draft (in LaTeX format) and figures will be posted on the Wiki and be available through Hamlet's web site.

PROPOSAL PREPARATION

• SIDIS:

• discussion of proposal draft, conceptually ready to circulate
• since last meeting one kinematic setting was added that is also relevant for the other SIDIS experiments at 12 GeV (all 25 days of beam time are shared with exclusive beam time)

• WACS:

• discussion of proposal draft, conceptually ready to circulate
• proposed are 1000 hours (40 days)

• DVCS:

• discussion of proposal draft, experimental setup description to be added, but almost ready
• new kinematic phase space figure was added showing coverage of experiments in Q2-x plane
• kinematics table was added
• since last week a detailed study of missing mass resolution was done and added to proposal. At low missing mass resolution gets generally worse, but PbWO4 crystal resolution helps. For all settings the missing mass resolution is <=0.2, which is known to work based on Hall A experience
• proposed are 65 days
• DES pi0 text was added. Need to still add second sub-figure

• COLLABORATION LIST AND CIRCULATING PROPOSALS

• proposals and NPS collaboration list will be posted on Wiki on a PAC40 page. Mails to interested people can then refer to that page
• based on our discussion, proposals will have a collaboration list and one extra page listing the NPS collaboration (since people are not yet familiar with this collaboration this first time around)
• proposals will be circulated as ready to interested people. Two possible mailing lists to send to are the Hall A and Hall C mailing lists. Contact persons for these lists are D. Higinbotham (doug@jlab.org) and S. Wood (saw@jlab.org)
