NPS TEMPERATURE

  • Discussion about optimal choice of temperature. Requirement: resolution of ~3% at 300 MeV
  • Temperature dependence is not linear
  • Discussion of drawbacks of cooling, e.g., condensation
  • Assuming ambient temperature is 25 C condensation has been observed in the HC Compton photon detector at 10 C

PMT bases

  • Default choice is the resistive base designed by V. Popov and Hamlet
  • Studies of relative benefits of C-W base ongoing at ODU

MAGNET DESIGN

  • Finalize magnet studies including fringe fields (Bogdan)
  • Discuss with Thia and Paul about path toward design drawings for this (and NPS frame)

READOUT

  • Ongoing work to setup DAQ. Update report should be ready at the next meeting (Alex)

PAC43 RESULTS

  • TCS LOI: theory motivation important. Need to quantify impact of the meausurement on global GPD extractions
  • PAC was very interested in the idea of an intense photon beam - suggests to further develop this idea

FUNDING

  • U. of Glasgow submitted a proposal for slow controls and additional magnet components needed for WACS experiments. Feedback is expected as early as August.

NEXT COLLABORATION MEETING:

  • Discussion about timing: could be in November, December, or January. If in November good dates would be 19-20 November.
  • Discussion about location

ITEMS FOR NEXT MEETING:

  • Magnet studies and planning
  • Follow-up on NPS temperature studies
  • Readout report
  • Next collaboration meeting
  • Other...
