SUBSYSTEM UPDATES

MAGNET

  • Work ongoing

FRAME (Carlos)

  • Progress with the assembly - PMT blocks, mu metal assembly,
  • Preshaping of wrapping - action: send material to JLab

MECHANICAL (Paulo)

  • Req rails for detector out
  • Platform already out
  • Items left to do:
  • magnet support and plate that goes under it
  • patchpanel model - where it goes - how it looks like
  • beamline - square section in front and a few small sections afterwards
  • corrector magnet

RADIATION DETECTOR AND SETUP (Alexandre)

  • Preparing tests with helium ionization chamber to measure neutron and photon separately
  • Could the setup provide possible anode current measurement in Hall A/C?

NPS TO DO LIST 2020 REVIEW

  • Largely on track with schedule adjusted for Covid-19
  • Roughly half of list for frame is done
  • Crytals on schedule
  • HV dividers - plan for path forward exists, waiting on lab resuming normal operations
  • Analysis software development ongoing, e.g. see Jacob Murphy's presentation
  • Much progress by DSG
  • Action: Ask FE/DAQ for presentation at a future meeting

CPS POWER ABSORBER (Bogdan)

  • Deformation risk for Cu core due to high temperature (~400-500 degC)
  • Narrow beam channel and 40cm long piece with diameter of only few mm
  • Deformation of inside slot (where beam is) could be an issue - need beam alignment up to 1mm
  • Should look at the details and see how to include room for motion - system is very compact with W shielding

NEXT MEETING: THURSDAY 30 JULY AT 9:00AM (ET)
