DISCUSSION DETECTOR PLANNING
- Update from Yulia on coordinate system to use for detector setup (mainly for ATHENA or IP6, ECCE could use different approach, please, check! … ):
- Right handed system.
- Z: Electrons goes along Z axis towards negative Z values ( 0,0, -1)
- Y: point to the sky
- X: Protons goes as ( -sin(a), 0, cos(a)) , where a- crossing angle , and crossing goes towards negative X.
- Additional information on IR layout (Rolf)
- Electron beam inside, ion outside
- Coordinate system chosen for earlier images, e.g., CDR is different
- No immediate impact on generators or Geant4 simulations
- this is about the coordinate system, nothing wrong with analysis!
- Also ongoing work on IP8 Secondary Focus nucleon momentum fraction (x_L) coverage - optimizing the transverse momentum p_T coverage vs. x_L (similar to what was done in JLEIC) - expect an update at the next IR2 meeting
- Action item:
- detector positioning studies with virtual planes
UPDATES MESON SF AND MESON FF
- Meson SF (Richard, Rachel)
- ran events through eicsmear/Geant4 (Fun4All), resolving issues with transport - do not see events in any of the FF detector
- on generator level ongoing work to analyze t distributions
- Action item:
- analyze events from Geant4 for IP-6/IP-8
- update on t-distribution
- DEMP generator events (Stephen)
- ran events through eicsmear/Geant4 (Fun4All) and analyzing events detected in the ZDC - looks reasonable
- Action item: resolve why no events in off-momentum or Roman pot detectors
- Kaon FF studies (Ali)
- Use DEMP for kaon generation: KL and KSigma
- Run generated events through eicsmear/Geant4 simulation - analyzed phase space distribtutions, no weights yet
- For KL identification - start with neutral decay here - not clear if need off-momentum and RP detectors in that case
- Action item: investigate why some KL and KSigma plots look different in phase space (no weights applied)
UPDATES ON GLOBAL FITTING, LATTICE, THEORY
- Ongoing efforts on PDF analysis for TDIS
- Would like the Q2 bins assumed for the TDIS proposal
- Lattice efforts ongoing
- Theory DSE efforts ongoing
NEXT MEETING: MONDAY 12 JULY AT 4PM ET
