PARTICIPANTS: Garth Huber, Patrick Barry, Petr Stepanov, Richard Trotta, Stephen Kay, Tobias Fredericko, Tanja Horn, Rolf Ent, Ali Usman

MESON FORM FACTOR (Stephen, Ali)

  • Evaluation of data from pass-through simulation for ECCE
  • kinematics quantities included in analysis
  • need beam information
  • Scattered electron
  • covers both electron endcap and barrel
  • most events in electron endcap ~130 deg and above
  • raidative tail beyond 135 deg
  • Strong correlation in pi+ and electron truth vs track, px vs py comparison
  • some correlation expected (solenoid field)
  • Action items:
  • implement smearing and additional studies
  • explore pass-through Athena simulation framework

MESON STRUCTURE FUNCTION (Richard)

  • Plan for meson SF validation studies
  • produce the first benchmarks with EicRoot(Alex)/Fun4All(Richard) with a single beam energy and reasonable event sub-sample (something which can run fairly quickly, probably < 100k events).
  • repeat the process with DD4HEP
  • decide on a path forward for a larger sample, and look at perhaps the lowest and highest beam energies back to back to see how the detector subsystem acceptance/overlap regions change with energy (e.g. in e+p DVCS the B0 is the most-important at low energy, the Roman Pots at high energy - it's good to know which detectors are needed for which energy/physics channel).

DETECTOR PLANNING FOR PROPOSALS

  • Discussion of possible processes that really benefit from second IR, high-x, low-t
  • For pion form factor: pi0/proton for experimental background studies and model constraints
  • For kaon SF studies: L/S0 ratios

LATTICE/GLOBAL ANALYSIS (Patrick)

  • EIC impact study - variation of splitting function regulator
  • seems to have large impact on valence and gluon
  • high/low limit to indicate theoretical uncertainty
  • Ongoing: Exploring impact of TDIS JLab data on valence/gluon distribution

THEORY (Tobias)

  • Work on PDFs ongoing
