DESIGN MODELS, STRESS/THERMAL CALCULATIONS
- Successful implementation of functional forms in FLUENT
- volumetric heat equation
- timeline estimate about six weeks to complete
- Radiation swelling of copper research

- should not be a concern as long as use oxygen free copper - c.f. beam dump made of copper as well
- Lifting study being planned for near future - identify any obstacles, etc.
ENGINEERING ANALYSIS AND PLANNING
- Engineering plan work ongoing
MAGNET DESIGN MODIFICATIONS
- Increase magnet length and width by 20cm to facilitate engineering; increase length to 8mm between poles
- all vertical dimensions same, yoke same
- Rough analysis shows much stress - needs more detailed analysis
- Actions:
- pass on TOSCA analysis to Steven L.
- start design end of July
