  • TCS updates
  • Other

PARTICIPANTS: Bert Metzger, Bogdan Wojtsekhowski, Hovanes Egiyan, Steven Lassiter, Vardan Tadevosyan, Hamlet Mkrtchyan, Tanja Horn, Igor Strakovsky, Amy Comer, Rolf Ent, Donal Day, Marie Boer,

MECHANICAL UPDATE (Steven, Bert, Amy)

  • Bert M. working on magnet
  • tolerances, thermal expansion, conductor leads etc.
  • still need to include dimensions on some drawings
  • Color code:
  • grey: tungsten blocks (in-hand)
  • green: yoke
  • yellow: coil
  • Good progress on thermal modeling and prototyping
  • some concern about the behavior of the model vs. expectation that needs to be addresses
  • Overall very good progress
  • magnet characteristics suitable for physics - need additional verification from ACC
  • some work remains to be done
  • some urgency with timeline to get procurement into the system
  • Action items:
  • Add dimensions to drawings
  • Set up meeting with Jay Benesch (ACC) about magnet input
  • Resolve issue with thermal model vs expectation
  • Start assembling information to prepare documentation, possible a publication in NIM

SHIELDING (Bodgan)

  • Tungsten powder procurement in system - some delays, but hope to have those resolved soon
  • Lead blocks - needed to supplement tungsten (have enough for outside, but need more for inside). So far received
  • Bates: 8 tons
  • SLAC 20 tons / 80 tons (that were agreed upon)
  • Action items:
  • follow up on tungsten powder blocks
  • follow up with SLAC on lead blocks

TCS UPDATE (Marie, Vardan)

  • Draft has been circulated - including responses to PAC questions
