SHIELDING MODELING (Josh)
- Magnet Shielding
- Thin shield on top - small thickness not an issue (~1% hole not an issue), overall not an issue as it's material, but not radiation issue for personnel - no one on top of CPS in operations
- Total weight of lead system
- ~3300 lead bricks (40 tons) - seems ~50% more than before, length is 2.7m compared to 2.1m originally
- ~2500 W bricks (4x4x2 inches3) - seems 20% more than before
- CPS Coil Cooling/Power Feeds
- Actions
- Check number of lead bricks and dimensions, same for W bricks
- Radiation hard coil model analysis
POWER DEPOSITION (Gabriel)
- Extracted power depositions from FLUKA - for now in arbitrary units (unspecified multiple of kW/cm3) and as function of horizontal coordinate y; radiator is at z~10cm
- Observe peak at z~24cm
- Action: Next need to parameterize or extract heat deposition for each cell for input to thermal calculations
THERMAL CALCULATIONS (Amy)
- Model development complete
- Action: determine the best input format from simulation (functional form in x, y, z or array?)
LEAD BRICKS (Bogdan)
- Shipment preparations ongoing - expect ~40tons before end of the year
OVERALL ACTIONS
- Start discussion about format and date for next collaboration meeting
NEXT MEETING: FRIDAY 30 OCTOBER AT 8AM (ET)
