Renovation of the Counting House to begin in summer 2012 - unfortunately with a reduced scope

The schedule for the counting house renovation is as follows:

  • The design is complete.
  • The subcontractor site visit was held this week.
  • Contract award and notice to proceed are scheduled to happen by the end of July.
  • Pre-Construction efforts (Training, submittal reviews...) will concluded the first part of August with construction starting sometime in August.

Pricing received from the subcontractors will determine the actual time frame of construction. Due to funding limitations the bid package was sent out with a base bid and several options. The base bid contains the HVAC work for the Halls on the first floor with some renovation to the flooring and walls. Included in the base is the replacement of the roof and the building's windows. Optional bids will be evaluated after costs are received. The top three options are: renovate the restrooms, lighting on the first floor and renovating the elevator.

Currently construction is scheduled out until may of 2013. This will be revised based on the actual scope awarded.

Here are the previous plans - not likely to be realizable

The most recent design features a large conference room, surrounded by 15 user work stations. Lockers are provided for users to secure valuables outside of working hours. The computing systems and personnel safety systems are now enclosed to reduce noise and produce a more user friendly environment. Additionally, technical and storage space is provided.
