Every Shift:

  1. Follow run plan as outlined by RC
  2. Keep shift summery up-to-date in HBLOG
  3. Document any beam condition change and send scaler GUIs to HBLOG
  4. Send "scaler_hps" GUI to logbook at least twice per shift or any time run conditions change
  5. Fill out shift checklist in the logbook, HBLOG, using template at least ones per shift or when run conditions change
  6. Continuously check quality of data
  7. With any issue contact On-Call Experts or RC.

Run Plan:March 5 - 6

Setup Beam to Hall-B Tagger Dump and Studies of Beam Properties.

  • Call for seep and close the hall at 5pm
  • Aid MCC to establish physics quality CW 1 pass beam to the Hall-B tagger dump:
  • When reasonable beam spot is achieved on the tagger dump screen perform harp scans, 2C21 and tagger (2C24) harps. Note: harp scans must be performed with 10 nA beam current
  • If beam x/y sizes are ~<250 um, proceed with program below, otherwise ask MCC to retune
  • Set up halo counter gains, see link below
  • Ask MCC to deliver oval shape beam at tagger (2C24) harp: x-width ~250 um, y-width << x-width, and tilt angle ~0
  • Continue with 2C24 (tagger) harp scans to check beam tilt angle motion over time, as well as beam position and width stability
  • At 6 am on Friday, March 6, call MCC to sweep the hall and get it to restricted access.
