Agenda
- Announcements
- Progress of CPS design (Tim, Pavel)
- prototype of absorber - next two months - finalization of shielding in terms of installation and deinstallation - magnet and absorber design is nearly finalized (99% ready) - reduced dose allow to operate with cheap resin
- Pavel
- updated model of CPS. Main motivation to accommodate technical requirements, like all joints outside shielding - new model reduces dose on magnet coils.
- New design, construction, and installation schedule estimates (Tim)
- 2025 is feasible, but would require additional manpower to parallelize operations. - 2026 is rather relaxed. - Budget profile is on the way. - Answer to a question from Igor: an early pre-installation of CPS is not possible due to conflict in location with existing equipment.
- Space at the lab (Tim, Eugene)
- Need 700 sq ft general indoor storage on or off site
- 200 sq ft in ESB (KFM detector check out)
- Additional 150 sq ft in lead shed
- Assume MRI magnet comes directly to hall when available
- Space is requested from the lab, no problem with allocations are expected - Thermal cycling (Tim): - All seems to be good
- Recommendation #4 from ERR-1 (Moskov)
- Results of the studies
- Statement regarding the studies of KLF compatibility with MOLLER.
- On May 24, Moskov reported that accelerator folks did not have a time to check a situation with Moeller vs KLF in May and will do that in November.
- Recommendation #5 from ERR-1 (Tim)
- Results of the studies
- Statement regarding thermal cycling of the targets receiving >1 KW power.
- Any other business.
- On the next meeting, Ilya will report the KL rate from Be-target extracted from SRC measurements.
- Mikhail reported that KFM parts are moving from Juelich to JLab and will be ready for installation.
- Expected deinstallation - beginning of August. - Possible contribution from Juelich for equipment transfer. - Possible additional funding for tracker electronics - Without a magnet two layers are sufficient -> reduction of channels # by factor of 2 -> 122*4*2~1000 channels. - Eugene comment: TDC from Hall-B might be available and sufficient for this. (will be explored).
