• MPD ETH Design Status (Paolo), slides.

• The schedule for using the upgraded MPD (10 Gbps link) is too tight given the planned installation starts on Sep. 1. We need another working plan as the main plan for the experiments (Patrick)

• Summary of optional plans (Ben):
  • i. 3 APV per MPD, a factor of 5 improvement. For the experiments, 144 APVs require 48 MPDs.
  • ii. Using v4.2 MPDs, which has a factor of 2 improvement on bandwidth, can have 6 APV per MPD, so reduce the number of MPDs required.
  • This needs work on the backplane and firmware, and borrowing enough MPDs
  • The numbers are estimated with 6 samples per strip, and it is possible to lower the number of samples and hence MPDs.

• Hall A should have enough MPDs available for borrowing at the time. (Nilanga)

• Look into the possibility of using 4 APV per MPD, it requires some improvement on the link speed but this makes the work on the backplane easier. (Paolo and Ben)
  • Though 3 APV per MPD is preferable from the DAQ point of view because it requires minimal tests

• For ERR, a solid work plan and some tests demonstrating the GEM DAQ can reach 25 kHz should be good enough (Ashot & Chris)

• Ben & Xinzhan: Arrange a test to demonstrate the 3-APVs/MPD can achieve 25 kHz

• Regular meeting (in Hall B online meeting) every Wednesday at 10 am EST to touch base (Sergey & Chao)
