CLAS6 - pKK

Summary of the action plan to include (a) baryon vertex into the CLAS6 - pKK "high mass" PWA..

Please let me know where I am wrong and if I left something out.

  • We decided to study the pK+(K-) channel from g12 data.
  • As a fist step we will add the pK- baryon vertices though lambda decays.
  • Ron will find us the amplitudes, elastic K-p->pK- going through lambdas

in the mass range of 1.4-2.4 GeV. If he can not find good data/amplitudes we perhaps need to change to the ppi+pi- channel but we will see...

  • We will introduce (add coherently) these amplitudes to our intensity function with

respective coefficients to fit (through our current extended likelihood procedure)

  • The normalization integrals will treated as we do now, they factorized out and will

be calculated independently from MC events (we need to check this further I think)

  • We will do our fits in mass bins of (m_kk,m_pK) and integrate over t (also to have more events per bin).

We will then need to include an exponential t distribution. The b coefficient of this distribution will be first guessed from data/literature but will be later part of the fit.

Ok, let me know of your comments, Carlos presentation of the (g12 pKK data at high mass) is here:
