Meeting Information
- Meeting Place: Virtual - Bluejeans
- Meeting Time: Tuesday, 11:30 EST
- Meeting Link: Refer to the weekly reminder email or calendar event for connection information.
Previous Meeting Minutes
Abishek
- Plotting in xi different Q2 values for this setting.
- Still working on ratio vs. density
- Look at dummy and carbon target to map out any ytar dependence.
- Ryan may be sharing densities for next week.
- John's OG calculation, Dave's PRL values, recent values
- Ryan's density extraction technique
Casey
- Parameterizing kinematically forbidden contribution to cryo targs
- Get resolution at X=2 from SIMC using a 'heavy' proton.
- Check 5.1GeV hydrogen at X>1 to check kinematically forbidden events.
Cameron
- Cherenkov Cal. documentation
- PMTs are fine with lower HV and better voltages.
- Dave's comment on cer cal:
- Simply fit the HGC photoelectron peak and move on. (with reasonable timing cuts)
- Follow Simona's second technique for the NGC.
- FADCs aren't great for Cerenkov. Integrating ADCs would be better because they integrate the whole distribution.
- Cer is always run in mode 10 during pion_lt exp, which saves everything. (Can treat fADCs like IADCs this way)
Current Tasks
- Burcu
- Looking at pi/e- ratios for X>1 data.
- x>1 data is well above the pion threshold of 4.65 GeV and the pion sample is contaminated.
- Based on the study need to decide on Noble Gas Cherenkov gas mix, unless we opt out using it (hopefully for upcoming week).
- Casey
- Write-up calibration procedures for XEM hodoscope, and calorimeter.
- Illustrate the usefulness of the diagnostic plots.
- Run the XEM model for all EMC settings
- Find what is happening to the YTrack= -2.5 blocks pulseInt
- Open the reference time windows for the 2019 data slightly. Include random hits, which should be removed by good electron cuts.
- Work on tracking in 2018 data. Pruning algorithm work
- Ali from Pion_LT running has some scripts / plots to help in this process.
- Possibly narrow the windows to select just the main peak?
- Dave
EMC ratio anomaly, where it is not yet correct.
- Abishek
- Working on the point-to-point dependence of the error on acceptance.
- Must add ‘added error’ to all momentum settings.
- Added error is until the Chi-2 value goes to ~1 per DOF. This is the ideal value, and this will give us an idea of the point-to-point error associated with the acceptance. **
- Possibly combine the two settings that have okay ratios (Data/MC) across the acceptance.
Systematic tracking efficiency is hard to pin down. Rel. Uncert. Comes from Deb’s study from rate dependence.
- Cameron
- Work through reference time and timing window cuts.
Recently Completed
- Aishek
- Isotopic purity assessment of boron targets
- Carbon target EMC ratio with Dave M's boiling slopes. (still 2% off)
- Looked at the EMC ratios with mc-single-arm detector checks turned off.
- Dave
- Log entry on cryo target density uncertainty
- Look at target boiling difference between Dave Mack and our values.
- Burcu
- Reproduced Abishek's pion contamination (PC) study with the 21 deg EMC data (C and LD2).
- Discussed the impact of the pre-shower and trigger cuts (ELHI and ELLO) on the PC study.
- Casey
- Set up analysis location on CDAQ machine (XEM-2022).
- Ran the hodoscope calibration and improved the fit range of velocity and cable length difference.
- Looked at possible problems with X>1 calorimeter calibration.
- Checked 2019 kinematicaly forbidden range
- Cameron
- Many, many shifts.
