• Would like to use a mechanical shutter (100% extinction); John will build a control box that uses TLL signal on BNC cable (TTL=high=close?, TLL=low=open?)
  • LST400: on-hand, delay to open (10ms) + full open (20ms) and delay to close (10ms) + full close (20ms); operates to 3Hz, large aperture 8mm (recommend <6mm beam)
  • LST202: need to purchase, delay to open (1ms) + full open (0.3ms) and delay to close (1.2ms) + full close (0.3ms); operates to 150Hz, small aperture 2.3mm (recommend <1mm beam)

• Alternatively use an electro-optic shutter (>1000:1 extinction, but fast rise/fall times <5ns)
  • repurposes cell in optical path, so more invasive and more work installing HV driver, control circuit)
