• Would like to use a mechanical shutter (100% extinction)
  • John Hansknecht will build a control box that uses TLL signal on BNC cable (TTL=high=close=beam OFF, TLL=low=open=beam ON)
  • LST400: on-hand, time to open (~30ms), time to close (~30ms), large aperture 8mm
  • LST202: purchase, time to open (~1.3ms), time to close (~1.5ms), small aperture 2.3mm (recommend <1mm beam)

• Alternatively use an electro-optic shutter (>1000:1 extinction, but fast rise/fall times <5ns)
  • repurposes cell in optical path, so more invasive and more work installing HV driver, control circuit)

• Tue, August 11: Turn on gun, commission new lasers, beam to FC1 (Joe Grames).
• Wed, August 12: Beam to FC2 and 5D dump (Yan, Riad).
• Thursday, August 13: Check beam optics to 5D (Chris). Measure beam energy (Riad).
• Friday, August 14: Mott and photocathode Analyzing power (Joe ,Riad).
• Saturday, August 15: Measure beam energy and beam current (Riad).
