This is the Kinney Relocation 35% Completion Review Meeting. Before the review meeting, the ring pump on Kinney 2 was discussed. Jonathan suggested looking options for new ring pump unit. The model is not supported by the manufacture anymore. The manufacture can only provides the 1/2 time capacity pump now. In order to replace the existing ring pump, we either need to buy two units from the manufacture or go to different manufactures hoping to find the same capacity pump as we have now. Alicia has contacted Gasho for the overhaul of the ring pump on Kinney 2. We are waiting for the feedback from Gasho.
1. It is determined to run the 12" Kinney suction piping system inside. 2. P&I is not approved since it is not clear if the bypass valve will the same size as the existing one or a different size. 3. Valve component list is not approved. Need to re-size the the control bypass valve based a flow rate of 20 g/s instead of 25 g/s, and to determine the size of the isolation valve on discharge header. 4. The existing actuator can provide 130 ft-lbs torque per SASA, less than the required torque for Jamesbury butterfly valve. Two Jamesbury valves with actuator will be purchased. The quote price is $7242.58 / unit. The budgetary cost is $7500 / unit.
Action items:
* i) Thilan is going to find the information of the existing control bypass valve * ii) Thilan is going to re-size this bypass valve based on 20 g/s flow rate. If the required size is different than the existing one, update the P&I accordingly. * iii) Thilan is going to re-calculate the pressure drop based on 20 g/s flow rate and 3" nps discharge. * iv) Thilan is going to find out if the flow meter on Kinney bypass is necessary or not. * v) Shirley is going to check with Facility regarding the clearness requirement of the fire water system on the east wall of the new CTF section.
