Agenda and Notes

1. Operations

LINAC

Magnet power supply repaired.

2L06 windows were repaired. Utubes were reinstalled in 2L06 and 2L07 and they were recooled and a pumpdown was completed. No downtime charged to cryo.

Air compressor maintenance completed.

CHL1

Techs continue working on connecting new CHL C7. Mag bearing cabinet #2 cooling fan failure. We devised a work around until holidays when we must repair it which requires a 2K shutdown. Fabrication continues on C8.

CHL2

Normal CHL2 MCB diffusion pump heater failure. During replacement it was noticed the bottom of the pump has rusted areas.

ESR

ESR cold box shutdown this week due to a CAMAC problem. It was also noticed that T2 did not stop rotating when its inlet valve closed during the shutdown. We are suspecting contamination on the inlet valve. We are making a plan to shutdown and warm up the circuit. The plan will be scheduled with ops or executed if the plant shuts down again. We will keep an eye on it.

Hall C SHMS Q2 cooldown from 300 to 80 started last week. The 4K phase is planned for Monday.

CTF

CB1 expander required rebuilding this week.

HDR

Air compressor maintenance completed. Normal.

2. Projects

UITF

Warm return VJ line section above cryomodule was installed and work is moving forward on 1/4CM installation.

MSU

Michael continues working on the 2K CB shell details for the RFP. FRIB is going to start pressure testing in January 17 so we need to complete the pressure systems paperwork. They are deleting the cross over line. Not enough details exist to complete the design of the transferline for their magnets so we will terminate at expansion cans and they can design and fabricate utubes later.

LCLS2

Installation work for the cryo plant was officially moved to the SLAC team. The team is currently evaluating the bids on some of the utility support equipment. Bayonets etc. are complete and we are going to ship them to PHPK as soon as possible. Dana will advise when paperwork is done. The recovery compressor parts purchasing is underway. Work has begun on the frames.

LCLS2 safety people visited this week asking questions on safety related items such as ODH, pressure systems, and readiness reviews.

3. Manpower

The new EE regular employee and ECAD contract employee started on Nov 1. He is currently working on both LCLS2 and UIM.
