- for SiPM careful with number of pixels
- consider LED light monitoring system for monitoring radiation damage over time
- for SiPM vs. PMT: check magnetic field at EEEMCal location
- possible development activities: preamp+shaping, larger matrix of SiPMs for large surfaces (for sPHENIX use 4 SiPMs per tower)
- Goals of near-term prototype tests: light collection efficiency, 2 SiPM/block readout, SRO, noise monitoring
