DISCUSSION PAC46

  • Positron LOI - agreement to join as NPS collaboration, some discussion about the format, e.g. Hall C only or all, listing of names
  • TCS proposal
  • Discussion about acceptance, must be folded in, in particular make very clear that there is a region in t where one cannot detect much
  • Discussion about beam time request - should be divided into components: physics, configuration, checkout
  • Agreement to join proposal as NPS collaboration
  • Action item: update collaboration list and circulate


MAGNET ASSEMBLY

  • All pieces are in test lab and ready to be assembled


CRYSTAL UPDATES

  • Presentation of irradiation studies at IPN-Orsay and comparison of measurements with same crystals at Giessen U.
  • For this subset, 2/10 crystals fail NPS specifications (J11, J23) - these also failed when tested at Caltech and CUA
  • Overall very good agreement between Giesssen and Orsay results
  • Discussion about 450 crystal procurement
  • Manufacturing uncertainty at Crytur - even after discussion with Rainer no change in pricing
  • Production process uncertainty SICCCAS - company now agreed to replace crystals and discuss about quality control optimization
  • Decide to make decision on path forward in week of June 11

HV BASES

  • Received new bases and sent to Chris/Fernando for quality checks - looks good
  • Full order put in on May 17 - should receive in beginning of June
  • Sockets received at OU too - ready to start assembly and testing
  • Discussion about cable length from base to patch panel and cable type - have not really decided yet, depends on outcome of cabling studies at IPNO
  • 35 PMTs will be brought from OU to JLab in week June 18
