EIC IMPACT STUDIES (Patrick)
- Phase space: large x/Q2 and small x/Q2 regions
- Statistical and systematic uncertainties
- Method 1
- assume 1.2% systematic uncertainty - dominant
- Number of events from simulation projections
- Method 2:
- assume 1.2% systematic uncertainty - dominant
- Number of events from calculation
- See strange behavior in the PDFs
- Cross section vs. kinematics. As xL gets large see large variations in fits since not number of events is small --> xL too close to 1 then data cannot be described well
- Action:
- Reperform fits with cut on xL
- If needed can implement cut in generator - however, in data have resolutions so can reach xpi>1, but don't have that in model, so cut should really come from model
FAR FORWARD DETECTORS OCCUPANCIES (Richard)
- IP6 with four different energies and compare to Yellow Report studies
- Hole in right spot?
- Neutrons seem to move
- Actions:
- major issues need to be resolved
- backup plan: use optics
- need G4 to determine real detection fractions
- npi0 (neutrals) could perhaps do with ZDC and no B0 and nothing else - but cannot do charged kaon decay
- prepare occupancy plots without B0 - use processed events with corrected energies (5 on 41)
- focus on pions
