PARTICIPANTS: David, Garth, John A., Patrick, Richard, Rolf, Tanja, Douglas, Carlos A.
LATTICE QCD
- Discussion about recent Lattice QCD papers on pion mass
- Making progress with calculations and addressing challenges - also new students
GLOBAL FITS - EIC IMPACT STUDIES
- Tried fits with correlated systematic uncertainties, but found some challenges - being worked on
- Events in simulation
- more events where have more cross section
- methods:
- uniform simulation in phase space and weighted by luminosity and cross section
- sampling where fold in the cross section
- Discussion about uncertainties
- From 10/2/2020 email: Regarding the point-to-point uncertainty, the best we can likely do is 1.0-1.2% based on 12 GeV JLab experience. We still need to make the estimates for the exact EIC Collider scenarios, but the 12 GeV estimate should be a good starting point for your impact studies.
- Literature on dos and donts of reduced Chi2: https://arxiv.org/abs/1012.3754
- Action:
- check old plots of events from YR and current event plots
- check definition of number of events
COMPARISON IP6 AND IP8 FOR MESON SF
- Comparison of IP6 and IP8 delta-t
- Action:
- Plots for delta-t in absolute units
- Geometric detection fractions for IP6 and IP8 (for all the energy combinations) - 58.6% (IP6) vs 77% (IP8) for 5 on 41; 100% everywhere else
- 2D t_truth vs. t, want width of diagonal line for both IP6 and IP8 in absolute values; cut off vertical at t~0.3
- 3D plot: t-t0 vs. Q2 vs. counts
- Update tech note
NEXT MEETING: THURSDAY 9 DECEMBER AT 5:00PM ET
